Become an Ombudsman!

Volunteer Ombudsmen visit Nursing Homes and Residential Care Homes for the Elderly to Investigate Patient Neglect and Abuse.

Ombudsmen also serve as a Resource for Consumers and Family Members concerning their Rights, Benefits and Alternative Living Options.

FREE TRAINING!

Each volunteer Ombudsman must complete a 36-hour training course that is available locally.

The volunteer Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is administered by the California Department of Aging through 35 local offices. If you want to make a difference by becoming an Ombudsman, the telephone number of your local Ombudsman office can be obtained by calling:
