Neighborhood WatchNeighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program where neighbors look out for each other. It is a program that encourages neighbor-participants to get to know each other and their routines so that any out of place activity can be observed, recognized, reported, and investigated. Participants are taught techniques that reduce the risk of being victimized at home, in their vehicles, and in public places. They are also taught the importance of recognizing suspicious activities and sounds, evaluating them, and properly reporting them to the Police Department. Participants are taught how to make their homes more secure, to properly identify their property, and how to look out for their neighbors. Neighborhood Watch provides an opportunity for a cohesive body of concerned, involved, neighbor-participants to address issues that concern their neighborhood and issues that concern the entire community.
