My Best Week In Five Years

Ceska Manne

...when the economy stinks people like to smell good

Andrea was an entrepreneur!  She started her little business selling soaps, lotions and aroma therapy in the early nineties -- actually right out of high school. She had high hopes of going to college eventually and becoming a chemist.  As a child playing with others, she always encouraged everyone to mix some dirt, rocks, sand, corn flower and whatever they could find on the playground and "let's get dirty and see what happens."

Her old friends in chemistry class remarked "Don't work with Andrea, she's not very careful.  She's a little too fearless with those chemicals!"

She certainly was!  One day when the high school smelled of very strong sulfuric acid, the cry went out "Must be Andrea working again!"

To make a long story short, Andrea received a sizeable inheritance from her old Aunt Myrtle, so Andrea opened a small apothecary shop in her town.  "Now that we are in a recession, people are spending on simple luxuries."  She was surprised when she received news from her accountant how well her business has picked up!

"This was my best week in five years," said Andrea.

"I guess when the economy stinks people like to smell good," said Andrea with a chuckle! When the economy stinks you can still smell good!
