Birthdays come and birthdays go, but there are a few that definitely leave their mark in one way or another.
Abbey's 40th came with no apparent different feeling or changes. Her 55th saw a few pounds of weight as well as an unusual "hankering' to see a bit more of the world; in other words, to get off her duff and travel to parts of the world she has been thinking about and feels she would like to get better acquainted with.
So, little by little, she saw New York, London, and bits of Italy, Germany and Asia. Things seemed to be going rather smoothly through these years and now, all of a sudden, as abrupt as an earthquake, she found herself celebrating her 65th birthday! What happened? Where did the years go? She looked in the mirror; she knew what she had to do before her surprise birthday party Saturday; and so:
"Abbey covered the few wisps of gray in her hair with a rinse" and then she filed into the car for a trip to her favorite store, Macy's, to find a beautiful summer dress to compliment her lovely auburn-red hair.
