Here is a "short list" of potential cabinet picks.  The list is not all-inclusive; there may be others being considered being kept under wrap at this time.  The list is ordered by line of succession to the Presidency.

The list is heavy on campaign heavyweights and Washington insiders, many of them from the administration of President Bill Clinton. Although there are Republicans on the list, the selections would likely be proven hands who would provoke little controversy. We expect Obama to move very quickly so that each department head could hit the ground running. Apparent front-runners as of 11/21/2008 in bold.
