If you answered "yes" to the above
questions, then maybe you should consider joining the Burbank Chorale.
The Burbank Chorale holds the distinction of being the longest continuously
performing arts organization in the San Fernando Valley. But by all means, this
does not make us antiquated. Since September of 2000, the Burbank Chorale has
been under the dynamic leadership and inspiring artistry of its current
director, Mikhail Shtangrud. Misha, as we fondly know him, has brought new life,
exciting music and a little Russian humor to our group, making our weekly
rehearsals and concerts both joyful and challenging.
The Burbank Chorale holds the tradition of presenting outstanding performances
to the community. Because of the diversity of its repertoire,
the Chorale offers concerts that appeal to a variety of musical tastes. From
Verdi to Queen, the Burbank Chorale has a little bit of something for everyone.
The Burbank Chorale is always looking for singers in all ranges. We accept new
singers during the first 3 rehearsals of each new season. There are two seasons
a year, and they generally begin on the first or second Tuesday of January and
of September. If you are interested and would like to schedule a vocal placement
audition, please use the contact information below to let us know.
Here are some helpful things to know about joining the Burbank Chorale:

When you come to join us, our director will test your voice range to determine whether you'd be best as a soprano, alto, tenor, or bass and then assign you a seat within your section.

Membership dues are $80 for each half of the 9-month concert year. Payment arrangements can be made.
The time commitment for singers is as follows:

Rehearsals every Tuesday night from 7:00-9:30.

Longer rehearsals, traditionally on a Saturday, in preparation for concerts.

Concerts -- generally, two in December and two in late spring.

And, of course, personal practice time.
Rehearsals are held every Tuesday throughout
most of the year from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at St. Jude's Church at Olive and
Sixth in Burbank.
