Language of Life
June 5 25, 2009
Burbank (May 2009) Nancys
beautifully executed Raku pottery is indeed a feast for the eyes. A potter for over 30
years, she challenges the medium and the process by applying her personal vision of Raku
for today. Her work is extraordinary, resulting in an amazing range of color. Her
Stoneware and Raku works are in private and corporate collections through the U.S. and
Europe.
Jenik's achievement in her body of work is to have arrived at a
point in her mastery to create works that are not only pictorially engaging on formal
levels but to create, also, philosophically teasing and profound images. The artist's
visionary exaltations refer to the enigmatic presence of lived life, aware of itself and
of its limitations, yet pressing on and filled with a sense of exultation at infinite
possibilities.
Opening reception is on Friday, June 5, from 7:00 9:00
pm.
