Thursday, December 4, 79 pm Maverick Art Spotlight: Art of the Streets.
Join us for a provocative panel discussion on graffiti art, an often misunderstood art
form, with acclaimed artists Man One and Chaz Bojorquez, who for decades have been known
for pushing the envelope with epic works. A short reception will follow. The museum will
stay open late. Admission is $5.
Saturday, December 6, 1:303 pm Las Raices de la Musica / The Roots of Music
Clįsica. This family-friendly, free matinee concert is presented in conjunction
with the Pasadena Symphony Association. Clįsica explores the connections among the roots
of Latin, Hispanic, and classical music. Each concert in this series will reflect the
artistry of our local musicians and reveal the powerful effects of familial and cultural
influences on their music. Free.
Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7, 10 am5 pm Happy Holiday Weekend Party
and Stores Sale, Members Only. Autry members, please come and share the holiday
spirit with us at both museums this weekend. Maximize your membership discount and take an

Sunday, December 7, Noon4 pm Here Comes Santa Claus.
Its holiday time, and Santa is back at the Autry! Bring the camera and the kids for
a family sing-along of Gene Autrys beloved classic tune, and see Santa himself
decked out in his finest Western wear. Free with museum admission.
Saturday, December 13, 12:30 pm Lets Make History at Griffith Park!
Decorate a Bandanna. A cowboys bandanna had many uses: as a dust mask while
driving cattle, as protection from sunburn or cold weather, or as a potholder for hot pots
or branding irons. Ride off into the sunset with a cowboy bandanna you decorate yourself.
Free with museum admission.

An Afternoon With Monty Roberts. Award-winning trainer of championship horses and
best-selling author Monty Roberts explains how he developed his world-renowned and
revolutionary Join~Up® training principles, which embody a nonviolent

Saturday, December 13, 34:30 pm Men of a Different Nature: John Muir and
Wallace Stegner. Donald E. Worster, author of A Passion for Nature: The Life of
John Muir, and Philip L. Fradkin, author of Wallace Stegner and the American West, discuss
their respective new books about these pioneering Western environmentalists. A brief

The Western Music Associations Southern California Chapter brings us some cowboy
holiday cheer with a concert featuring Tom Hiatt & the Sundown Riders, Joyce Woodson,

About the Autry National Center
The Autry National Center is an intercultural history center that includes the Southwest
Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of the American West (formerly the Autry Museum
of Western Heritage), and the Institute for the Study of the American West. Each
institution maintains its individual identity; however, the convergence of resources
allows us to expand our understanding of the diverse peoples of the American West,
connecting the past with the present to inform our shared future. The Autry National
Centers executive offices are located in Griffith Park.
Autry National Center of the American West Mission Statement
The Autry National Center explores the experiences and perceptions of the diverse peoples
of the American West, connecting the past with the present to inform our shared future.
The Museum of the American West and Museum Store in Griffith Park are
open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From June 1 to August 31, Thursday hours
are 10 am to 8 pm. Admission is free on the second Tuesday of every month and free for
veterans year-round.
Admission is $9 for adults, $5 for students and seniors 60+, $3 for
children 312, and free for Autry members, veterans and children 2 and under.
