Autry National Center of the
American West
Beer Tasting
Saturday October 18th
6:309:00 pm
The Autry National Center of the American West
ushers in the fall with a toast to spirits and songs with the second of a three-part food
series titled Wine, Whiskey, and Song. Enjoy dinner provided by Cheers Catering Inc., live
music by a local band, and learn what makes a quality drink, straight from the experts.
The Mary White Band hits the stage with some down-home country music as we delight in the
wonderful world of beer. Angel City Brewing is a quality-oriented specialty brewer,
focused mainly on providing Southern California with the finest local beer possible. The
brewery is located in the middle of Los Angeles, the largest beer market in the United
States. Guests will vote for their favorite beer and get to ask questions of Angel
Citys master brewers.
Guests will mingle with 1800s reenactors who will dress to impress. In addition, a docent
will lead guests to the Spirit of the Cowboy Gallery for a tour of the saloon, which
features a Los Angeles Pattern Bar used in Wibaux, Montana, circa 1900. The
saloon was the social center in many Old Western communities, combining tobacco and liquor
store, bar, restaurant, billiards parlor, and gambling hall.
Tickets for this part for Autry members are $30 each. Tickets for nonmembers are $40 each.
Registration is required; please call 323.667.2000, ext. 300.
About the Autry National Center
The Autry National Center is an intercultural history center that includes the Southwest
Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of the American West (formerly the Autry Museum
of Western Heritage), and the Institute for the Study of the American West. Each
institution maintains its individual identity; however, the convergence of resources
allows us to expand our understanding of the diverse peoples of the American West,
connecting the past with the present to inform our shared future. The Autry National
Centers executive offices are located in Griffith Park.
