Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, 2008For the twelfth successive year, the Kiwanis Club of Burbank will celebrate the birthday of our nation's flag on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14, 2008. The event will take place at the Burbank Tennis Center in McCambridge Park, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a concert of patriotic music by the Burbank Community Band under the direction of Dr. Don Holcomb. During the program cash prizes will be presented to the winners of patriotic poster and photo contests which have been conducted in the parochial and public schools of Burbank. Following the presentation of their Historic Flag Ceremony by the members of Kiwanis sponsored Boy Scout Troop 204, the audience will pause along with fellow Americans across the land to pledge allegiance to "Old Glory".
