Tazzla Institute for Cultural Diversity, Burbank, California, is a non-profit, 501c(3) California charitable and educational organization that was founded in 1993. Among its projects are the United Nations Project "Creating Peace Through the Arts and Media," "The Amazigh Video Productions," and the "Tuareg Desert Schools" in collaboration with its partner, OVD TEDHILT, a Tuareg NGO of Niger.

This year, Tazzla Institute initiated a new project in keeping with its commitment to educate American audiences about the African Amazigh (Berber and Tuareg) culture, "The Los Angeles Amazigh Film Festival." The date of the first festival is set on Saturday, January 12th, 2008, in honor of Yennayer, the Amazigh New Year celebration. Under the Amazigh calendar in use, it is the year 2958.

The Festival will be held in Hollywood, at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre and Art facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, which sits on top of a hill in a beautiful park setting between Edgemont and Vermont on Hollywood Boulevard. The event will begin with a short reception catered by LE CHAMEAU Restaurant of Hollywood, held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
